Renting the Dell PowerVault ME5024

The PowerVault ME5024 is a 2U block-storage array rather than a server: 24 bays of 2.5-inch SAS or SSD, scaling to 4 PB raw with expansion, and host connectivity over 12G SAS, Fibre Channel or iSCSI. It is rented when storage, not compute, is the gap.

The usual cases are migrations, where data has to land on a staging array before cut-over, and proof-of-concept builds that need shared storage for a cluster. It is also a stand-in during an array failure or upgrade.

Which host protocol you need changes what we deliver with it, so tell us whether your hosts connect over SAS, FC or iSCSI when you enquire. Rates start at AED 360 per day.

Is the ME5024 a server or a storage array?

It is a storage array. It holds the disks and presents them to your servers over SAS, Fibre Channel or iSCSI, so you pair it with compute rather than run applications on it directly.

Can I rent the ME5024 for a data migration?

Yes, and that is a common use. Rent it for the cut-over window, land the data on it, and return it once production has moved. Weekly and monthly rates apply to longer migrations.

What is the minimum rental period?

One day. Daily, weekly and monthly rates are available, and the weekly and monthly bands offer better value on anything running beyond a few days. Rates shown are indicative, per unit and exclude VAT.

How quickly can this be delivered?

Plan on one to two days between confirmed order and delivery across the UAE. That window is the pre-delivery configuration work: imaging, enrolment and lockdown are completed before dispatch rather than at your site. Larger quantities or upcountry locations may need longer, so share your dates early.
