Cybersecurity Services in Toronto

Threat monitoring, fast incident response, and a security team in North York that knows Canadian compliance.

Cybersecurity in Toronto: The Managed Model

Cybersecurity services in Toronto are easy to buy and hard to trust. IP Care runs security from a staffed office at 40 Wynford Drive, Suite 200B in North York, with people who can be on-site across the GTA when something goes wrong, not a dashboard you are left to read alone.

We have protected Canadian businesses since 2011. The Toronto practice covers monitoring and threat detection, incident response when it counts, endpoint and email protection, and the compliance work that keeps PIPEDA, CASL and Ontario regulators satisfied.

Most breaches we are called into were not sophisticated. They were a missed patch, a reused password, a phishing email nobody flagged. We close those gaps first, then build the monitoring and response that catches the rest before it spreads.

UAE Regulations

The Frameworks We Deliver Against

Every engagement is scoped with the rules your organisation answers to. These are the frameworks we assess, remediate and prepare evidence for.

NESA / UAE Information Assurance Standards

Mandatory for critical-sector entities in energy, government, banking, telecom, transport and healthcare. NESA was absorbed into the UAE Signals Intelligence Agency in 2020, but the standards are unchanged and still audited. See our NESA compliance programme.

UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL)

Governs how personal data is collected, stored and accessed. In practice it drives access controls, data classification, consent records and keeping data, including backups, inside the UAE where required.

ISO 27001

The international information security standard many UAE clients and partners ask for. A large share of its Annex A controls map to NESA requirements, so the two programmes can share evidence. See NESA vs ISO 27001.

PCI DSS

Required wherever card payments are stored, processed or transmitted, common in retail, hospitality and e-commerce. We run the gap assessment, remediation and audit preparation as part of our compliance services.

Buyer's Guide

How to Choose a Cybersecurity Services Provider in the UAE

Most UAE businesses we talk to are in the same position: security bolted on after the fact, default configurations never hardened, nobody watching overnight and no written incident response plan. These are the questions that separate a provider who will fix that from one who will sell you another tool.

Start with what you have to comply with

If you operate in a critical sector, NESA / UAE IAS applies whether or not you have started. If you hold personal data, the UAE PDPL applies. Your clients may also ask for ISO 27001 or PCI DSS. A good provider scopes the work around these from day one, rather than treating compliance as a separate project at the end. Our compliance services cover the gap assessment, remediation and audit evidence.

Ask who is watching at 2 am

24/7 monitoring means different things to different providers. Ask who triages the alerts, where they are based, what gets escalated and how fast. Ours is defined and documented before you go live: the scope of what is monitored, the alert thresholds and the escalation procedures.

Ask what happens when something gets through

No control stops everything. What matters is how quickly an incident is contained and how thoroughly it is understood afterwards. An incident response retainer means the response starts immediately instead of from a standing start. Our session hijacking case study shows what that looks like in practice, including an attack that bypassed both the password and MFA.

Fix identity first

Microsoft has reported that multi-factor authentication alone blocks more than 99% of account-compromise attempts, which is why identity hardening is one of the first things we fix: enforced MFA, Conditional Access and clean admin accounts in Microsoft Entra ID. It is the cheapest large reduction in risk most organisations can make.

Know whether you need services or advisory

Cybersecurity services defend and operate your environment day to day. Advisory designs where it should go: Zero Trust architecture, SASE, and board-level governance. Many organisations need both, and it helps when the same company can do both. See our cybersecurity advisory practice.

Local support in Dubai and Abu Dhabi

We are headquartered in Abu Dhabi and send engineers to client sites across the UAE when a job needs hands on site. See cybersecurity services in Dubai and cybersecurity services in Abu Dhabi for how we work in each emirate.

Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have people in Toronto, or is this monitored from overseas?

Our team works from an office at 40 Wynford Drive, Suite 200B in North York. Monitoring is continuous, and our responders travel on-site across the GTA when an incident needs hands on it.

What happens when we actually get breached?

We work to a written incident response plan: contain the threat, investigate the cause, recover your systems, and handle breach-notification obligations under PIPEDA and Ontario law.

Can you help us meet PIPEDA and CASL?

Yes. We align your controls and data handling with PIPEDA, set up consent and unsubscribe handling for CASL, and map to Ontario provincial requirements, including PHIPA for healthcare.

Do we have to replace our IT provider to use your security?

No. We can layer managed security over your existing IT, or run both together if you would rather have one vendor accountable.

How is this priced, and is it in CAD?

Pricing is in Canadian dollars and scoped to your environment, the number of users and devices, and the level of monitoring and response you need. We quote it after a short assessment.
